The Birthday.

With Morbid Covid, I expected a big zero for my big day. Lazing around in bed gazing at streams of people getting laid was the program. But my gurlfrens braved the chinatown traffic jam and sprung a surprise. Before I realize, my favorite chocolate cake was in front.

Despite each of the gurls being hit by giant set backs, they took the time to relax,   celebrate my day and make beautiful memories.

COVID, bed and friends

If ever there was a disease suited for introverts and lazy butts, COVID is it. Social distancing, no visiting, are like bacon and syrup drizzled on salad.

Too much snake-in (吃蛇), no clubbing makes a sad ballad. So a masked ranger one must be, so as not to become a stranger to the outside world.

Lying on the bed all day is too tempting, reading away all the dirty fantasies perverts send me.

Humanity...

can be dim witted. Singapore was a ghost town last night not because of any government lockdown but because some kiasu people went to supermarket to buy weeks of toilet rolls. My favorite Ah Beng, Chan Chun Seng, said Singaporeans lak-sei (embarassing). I pity this minister who had to go live to report the months of supplies that the government had stockpiled because of the recent Malaysia lockdown. So when everyone is scrambling, it's a great opportunity to go anywhere but supermarkets which will be packed.

Last October there was a strain making it rounds. When I had it, I thought that many of the older folks or people who are vulnerable would be able to survive this flu. When WHO finally detected and declared existence of Corona Virus or rebranded as Covid19, I thought it was rather silly that people started reacting to it when this bugger has been around for some time. It's easier to blame bat shit than to really understand the origin of this disease. I've been to Wuhan. The market has literally been around for decades. Chinese people do eat some scary shit and they have been doing it for thousands of years. Logic would dictate it's quite unlikely that the market is the source of the virus. SARS, COVID, crazy weather, firestorm...correlated? Some bright scientist should look into that. Diseases that are locked in ice, forest or deep in the earth are being released by humans. With economics, monies and livelihood clouding the lense of judgement, it's easire to point to batman shitting on our health rather than seeing the big picture. Andrew Yang by Gage Skidmore.jpg Last year I stumbled upon this crazy Asian guy called Andrew Yang. He was running for the US Presidency. I knew he had no chance because of his skin color. As I read his stuff, this guy turned out to be a genius. He said that Trump won because he identified all the ails of America but he blamed it on trade and immigrants, hence the trade war and the wall. Andrew Yang said that most times people use scapegoat because it's easier than facing reality. If he comes to Singapore, he better sign my copy of his book. I am just going to live my life. Eat no meat as I am a vegetarian, take public transport and donate to charities when I have spare monies. Oh I love pool. Just picked it up recently eventhough I super suck at it.

A break from Fly Aeroplane

Fly Aeroplane or fang feiqi / fong fei kei (放飞机) is a Singaporean idiom of not showing up for dates or cancelling dates. 2020 was starting to look like 100% Fly Aeroplane. The reason?
20200219_102.JPG
A super comfy big velvet bucket seat that just holds me like a soft giant hand awaits me at home. I can just curl up and chill on Mr.Big Black Hand or MBH for short. MBH handily won over many ho-hum dates. I get nice gifts from my dates but its the dull script with the inept actor that comes after it. Can't I just get the gift and kiss each other good bye?

There are only a few people who can get me off MBH. One of them is my best friend for more than 15 years, Adaline. It's hard to ignore her when she comes right up to my place, honks and drags me into her car. Besides Lulu's lounge is one of my favorite joins. Two reasons for delivering me to SGGURLS monthly meet. Here's a short video:

SGGURLS NOV 2019 MEET

This lil diary is a canvass for my thoughts, it's probably the only cohesive chronicle of SGGURLS genesis. SGGURLS is a Singapore based umbrella transgender group founded on Oct 31st 2007 by a very unlikely group. SGGURLS started when many didn't want to live under the tyranny of a dictator who ran the only transgender group at that time. A few fun souls got together and won the best dress Halloween contest. When the announcer asked for the group's name, Adaline shouted "SGGURLS". With thunderous applause and cat calls, so it was. In SGGURLS we decided to make things right  We recognize that gender is a spectrum. Each person discovers and develops their own sexuality in their own time and space. Unlike the other group, there's no end destination. A CD is no less than a fully transition woman. Another big difference is that SGGURLS is open to friends and family. Admirers are welcomed.

The Singapore trans scene is underground but vibrant. When I see Becca'Dbus with her Riot, I know the pink in lgbt is healthy. SGGURLS is seeing its millenial sistas step up and take over the reins.
The SGGURLS pioneers:

The millenials (minus me):

SGGURLS holds events every month for it's members. To date we've organized about 144 monthly meets, another 44 informal meets. Most the gurls meet regularly. Some of the gurls have been lifelong friends. We rotate venues.
A pic today with friends who I've known for more than ten years. I've not seen Vanessa since Changi. The picture below was taken when phones and cameras live separate lives. 5.5 megapixel was the top camera tech and the debate of film vs digital still raged.
A pic from yesterday:

On Ladies Nite at Lulus, time was just a four letter word. We exchange news from night to morning. The live band packed up, the DJ took over, I am glad to be with my best friend and co-founder of SGGURLS. The photo below of Adaline and I was taken 12 years ago in Backstage Temple street.
This was taken yesterday at Lulus yesterday.

SGGURLS events is open to all it's members,

SGGURLS Oct 2019 meet

Once a month, the gurls of Singapore meet up. It's a small slice in our lives where we remind each other that it's okay. No one chooses to be transgender as much as no one ask to to born. Since we're here, the best is of what we are, should the best of what we should be all at all times. Having friends helps especially those that encourage. Everyone lives a life at a time. No one lives the same life forever. We will be born many times, the card dealt will not of our choosing. We play the game until we learn whatever that is to be learnt.

In SGGURLS, we try to provide a positive environment where people are free to express themselves constructively and positively. SGGURLS's meets are announced on our FB forum. It's never a fix place. The venue is selected by the majority. If you're transgender and in Singapore at the time, please join us. The gurls are just like you. We're happy for admirers to join us as well. I am wearing a latex outfit sent to me by my Daddy from down under. So admirers, please come and don't be shy.
